Aiden's Growth

Our little boy seems to be doing very well on his growth since his birth. Our last visit at the doctor was at 6 weeks and he weighed 10 lbs, 4 oz. His length was right at 23 inches. We have another doctor appointment next week and we look forward to seeing his progress! We have really noticed him changing on a day to day basis. He is so strong, he can hold his up at a 90 degree angle and can stand for a pretty long time with a little help! At night he manages to "climb the mountain" on daddy's tummy. He can move himself all the way past daddy's neck. As he is climbing he makes these grunting noises because he is trying so hard. It is pretty hilarious!

Auntie Erin's Visit

Last week Auntie Erin came by to visit Aiden and to help me to do some Christmas shopping. While she was here she took some great pictures of Aiden. We had a nice time hanging out with her!

By now most everyone has received their Christmas cards, but I wanted to publish the additional pictures we had to choose from for everyone to see. Grandma Marrin did such a great job taking Aiden's picture by her tree! What a great package Ryan and I were blessed with this year!

Aiden's First Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we were very busy! We spent Thanksgiving dinner at Mandy and Chet's new house and then made our way over to Aunt Sharon and Uncle Kurt's for dessert. Aiden had a great time visiting with everyone new to him! It was a wonderful day!

First Bath

Lucky for us, Aiden was able to take a bath pretty quickly after coming home. His umbilical cord fell off pretty fast. Since then, bath time has become an every other day occurance. He is starting to really like bathing as long as we make sure to keep the warm water splashing on him. He does not like to be chilly!

Great Grandma's Birthday Party

Aiden finally had the chance to meet Great Grandma Burns at her birthday party! She had the chance to hold him for the first time at our visit. We were also able to get a great picture of all four generations.

Halloween

We were so excited that Aiden arrived early enough for Halloween this year! I had picked up a costume months ago just in case we might need it. We dressed Aiden as a "little monster" this year. What I did not know when I chose his costume was that his daddy had a very similar costume for his first Halloween 26 years ago. We also made time to visit the pumpkin patch. We could not miss the opportunity to take pictures of Aiden with all the things that were so much bigger in size than him. All in all, we had a special Halloween this year as a family!

Our First Week At Home

Our first week at home has been an adjustment. Aiden is doing well and mommy and daddy are finally getting used to having a baby at home! We have never changed so many diapers. As soon as he begins to eat he has a dirty diaper - literally you can hear it! He is opening his eyes more and more each day, which is always fun for us. We have attempted many times to get photos of him with his eyes open, but he really does not like the camera. He has been working out 15 minutes daily on his tummy and it is truly amazing how strong he really is. When lying on his tummy he is able to push his bottom in the air with his legs straightened. He will be crawling before we know it!

Aiden Is Finally Here!

After many months of pregnancy, Aiden has arrived! He was finally born on October 15, 2008 at 8:11 PM after 3 epidurals and 36 hours of labor. He weighed in at 6 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches long. Honestly, despite the long hospital stay we have adjusted wonderfully at home. He is eating about every three hours and is sleeping through most of the night between feedings. He is such a good baby, only complaining with few small whimpers when he is hungry, wet, dirty or naked. We feel so blessed and cannot believe that we have managed to make such a beautiful baby boy!

We Are Finished!

After having such a beautiful shower, we were unsure as to where we would put all of our wonderful gifts! Honestly, our house is bigger than it looks because we managed to find a place for everything!

Aiden's nursery is complete! His blankets have been washed, his clothes are hung, the baskets have been filled and his toys have found their place. All that is needed for this adorable nursery to be complete is our little boy!

Ryan has spent a lot of time making sure everything has been put together properly and the batteries are in place. I think this has been our most favorite part of the experience, we find ourselves walking into his room occasionally to smell baby and soak up all that we have been blessed with.

Only four more weeks and we will have our new son to cuddle and love!

Our Beautiful Baby Shower!

For all of you who were able to attend our baby shower, thank you again for joining us! For everyone who could not be there we have included pictures for your viewing pleasure.

We could not have asked for a more wonderful baby shower! The room looked beautiful, the centerpieces looked great and tasted good, the games were fun, every detail was pulled off to perfection! It was everything I had ever dreamed of! A special thanks to Mom and Aunt Lisa for all of their hard work!

Ryan and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives to share in this special time! We received everything that we could have possibly wished for and are so appreciative of how generous everyone was! We cannot say thank you enough!
