A Great Combination
My sister has been scanning in photos of our childhood lately and sending them to me. It has been really fun to see them again. So, after many emails of my photos, she quickly added some of Ryan's she had on file from our wedding slideshow. We have had a great time looking at the pictures and comparing them to our own children. We thought it would be fun to share with everyone else so that they could see just how much our kids are a great combination of ourselves! Enjoy!

First Sox Game of the Year

We went to our first Sox game of the year and it was a complete success! It rarely happens that Ryan is willing or able to take off work to do something fun with the family in the middle of the week. When he asked if we could go I was on board! Aiden had a great time which was no surprise! He enjoyed the games last year, but this year he was even more fun to watch as he cheered for our team and made comments about all that was going on around him. Avery slept through the whole game and was the only one who did not get a little sunburn. It was a wonderful day and I am so glad that we went!

The Easter Bunny Brought Rotovirus
Easter weekend began one of the longest weeks Ryan and I have yet to experience as parents. What looked like a tummy bug rapidly got worse and Aiden had to be hospitalized for dehydration. We had spent Saturday celebrating Easter with Mimi, Papa, Gigi, Uncle Drew & Papa Pischl, only to notice Aiden was moving pretty slow. Not eating much and then vomiting during his nap. Once evening came, things got progressively worse. Aiden was now wearing diapers because our poor little guy was experiencing something everyone hates dealing with, the "stomach flu" at it's worse. He had slept through the night and we were really hoping he would wake up rested for church & our visit to Grandma & Papa Burns' house, but that would not be the case. Our little man was miserable and could not hold anything down all day. Lucky for Aiden he still had some visitors, Grandma, Papa Burns, Aunt Erin & Aunt Mallory came by to cheer him up with some Easter gifts. As the days continued, he began to refuse food & liquids, and he got weaker and more exhausted. By Tuesday morning, the doctor told us to skip our appointment and bring him directly to the ER. I was scared and Ryan worried. Our family was waiting all day for updates of his progress. Aiden received 600 mL of fluids, some anti-nausea medication and was feeling better. Unfortunately, his relief was only short lived. By Wednesday afternoon we were in the same place and back at the doctor's office. This time we got a prescription for Zofram (anti-nausea) and were told that he had two hours to urinate or he would be admitted overnight at Hope Children's Hospital. The medication worked and we were able to push fluids orally. It was not until today that he has started to be himself again. He lost three pounds in the three days prior to being in the ER. He was so sick and we felt so helpless! It was a long week, but we made it through, thanks to family and friends helping & praying for us along the way!
Thomas Live
Aiden just loves Thomas the Train! He has always loved cars, planes and most any vehicle, but his love for trains, specifically Thomas seems to trump everything else. When we found out that Thomas Live was coming to the Rialto Theatre in Joliet, we could not pass on the opportunity to take Aiden to his first theatre performance. I have to say that it was amazing! He loved it more than we could have imagined and I could not get over the amount of other boys & girls that were "Thomas Crazy" too! Even Avery could not keep from watching, at least during the first half. We had a wonderful time and were so grateful that Mimi brought us! Here are a handful of the many photos we took!
